Project Room LA Creates the Ultimate Showroom Experience for Farrow & Ball
Farrow & Ball‘s newest flagship showroom recently opened in the La Cienega design quarter of Los Angeles. The UK-based company, which is known for its richly-pigmented paints and sophisticated wallpapers, enlisted local talents Isaac Resnikoff and Sandy Yum of Project Room LA to design the space.
On the first floor of the two-story flagship, crisp white walls and flooring provide a clean backdrop for the 132 shades of paint on display. Here, Resnikoff and Yum offer a playful alternative to the conventional sheets of paint sample chips in the form of interactive sculptural displays painted in the brand’s full color range. “They join magnetically and allow people to play and compose their ideal color combinations,” explains Resnikoff. “They’re here so you can really see the color—the way that light plays off of it in three dimensions, the way that it comes into being in the real world.”
The upper level holds a lounge and design library for the robust community of design professionals in Los Angeles. “It’s rare to have a client like Farrow & Ball, who wanted to be brave and pioneering in terms of setting a new precedent for the experience of what a paint store could actually achieve,” says Yum.
